The Land O’ Lakes Rescue Petting Farm Story
Land O’ Lakes Rescue Petting Farm originated because there was a need to help injured, sick and abandoned farm animals and offer a therapeutic setting for children and adults who have suffered from trauma and have special needs. As foster parents, we have seen first hand how children and adults have overcome their trauma by working with these animals.
The love and compassion that these animals receive from visitors who provide treats and hugs have helped make these animals gentle and learn to trust again. Each animal that arrives at our farm must be vet checked and provided the necessary on-going prescribed treatment plan.
We try to be self-sufficient at the rescue farm and receive no government funding or agency support. We are a not-for-profit organization and all our staff and community help are all volunteers.
Funds for the farms and the animals care is all raised by tour admissions, fundraisers, and of course donations. We offer a sponsorship program, as well as our volunteers, work tirelessly with ongoing fundraisers such as bottle drives, online yard sales, and silent auctions.
